Baguio City’s Garbage Problem Worsen

By: Frezel Enriquez
Baguio City used to be the cleanest and greenest city in the Philippines way back on the 90’s, but now, due to different industries which led to waste problems the title was now given to a different city which is Palawan.

Baguio's garbage problem
was even worse when the barangay Irisan dumpsite was closed due to the harming effects to the area. It has been a call for the officials to close the dumpsite as requested by the residents which invoked the law of the Solid Waste Management Act of 2000 alongside with the danger the dumpsite poses to the lives and properties in the neighborhoods.

For quite some time, the City of Pines now stinks and the local seem not paying attention on their responsibilities to carefully manage properly their waste disposal.

Tarlac on the other hand became the alternative place to lay the city’s waste, but owing to diminishing land assets which will be used for other industrialization purposes, Tarlac refuses to continue the operation of garbage reception in Baguio; leaving the said city in a big dilemma.

On eminent post I will explain as regards to how TGEG can intend a resolution for Baguio City’s growing waste problem through Biosphere Technology.
